There will be a film about the early years of Billy Joel’s musical career. The American singer has only not given permission to use his music and tell his life story, his manager says variety†
The biopic is called Piano Manafter Joel’s most famous song, and is about the years before his big breakthrough in 1972. For example, it tells about how the now 72-year-old singer was discovered at the age of 16 by his first manager Irwin Mazur.
Producers of Piano Man have bought the rights of Mazur’s life story. He was Joel’s manager from 1965 to 1972. It is not clear why Joel does not want to participate in the project.
