The members of the Sports Journalists’ Association voted 17 different athletes as Athlete of the Year.
Individual first places were awarded to real surprise names. Among them were Luukas Saha, Silja Kosonen, Heili SirviöKerttu Niskanen, Kalle Rovanperä, Aleksi Virolainen, Joel Pohjanpalo and Lauri Heinonen.

Two first places were awarded to Leo-Pekka Tähte, Sebastian Aho and Toni Piispase.
The athlete of the year was Aleksander Barkov, who collected 1,710 points and 94 first places. Lukas Hradecky was second (1,652 and 66) and Harri Heliövaara third (1,336 and 14).
