Neea River is one of the finalists of this spring’s New Music Competition. His competition song is called Nightmares.
Neea, who comes from Nurmijärvi, has made music for, among others, the band Portion Boys. In addition to this, one of his songs has ended up on the soundtrack of a Hollywood movie.
The singer says in an interview with Viisupodi that she supports herself with music.
– For the last four years, I have supported myself with music. The first years, when I was a songwriter, I did extra work to pay the rent, Neea says in an interview.
Money also comes from making commercial music. Sometimes songs are also bought abroad.
– In the Asian market, you can ask that you get the rights to that song for ten years, when you pay me the price, Neea illustrates.
How much are you willing to pay for the songs?
– The biggest amount I have received from a song is 30,000 euros.
