The Essen-based department store group Galeria is realigning its logistics and restructuring its collaboration with the logistics service provider Fiege.
Specifically, Galeria is switching from a joint venture structure with Fiege to a ‘third party logistics’ model in which the logistics specialist takes over the processes in the department store as well as the transport to the branches, Galeria announced on Thursday on the career network Linkedin. These changes are intended to enable Galeria to concentrate even more on its core business.
“As part of this realignment, we are joining forces to take Galeria’s logistics to the next level,” said Galeria CFO Sailer Christian.
