An explosive went off at a house on Groene Steen in Hoorn on Sunday, January 5, around 2:30 am. The image above shows a man working with a long electrical cord. He then detonates the explosive moments later.
Threatening letter and mistake
The windows of both the house and those of the neighbors are damaged. Parked cars also break down. A threatening letter was sent prior to the explosion. The police strongly believe that this explosion was a mistake.
That same Sunday, January 5, another explosion took place, around 2:50 am, at a house on De Weide in Zwaagdijk-Oost. The same man may be working on those cables.
The explosion damaged the windows and facade of the house and damaged two cars parked in front of the door.
Closure of homes
The mayors of both places have temporarily closed the homes – for fear of a recurrence.
