Renée Zellweger returns to the role of Bridget Jones in the fourth part of the film series, which will be released in February.

Actress Renée Zellweger, who became famous from the Bridget Jones films, went on an indefinite vacation in 2010 and was not seen on the big screen until 2016. She says Vogue in an interview with Hugh Grant, why he stayed out of the limelight for six years.

Zellweger says she didn’t feel happy, and she says she needed a break from movies and series.

– I was tired of my own voice. When I was at work, I thought “oh my god, now listen to yourself. Are you sad again? Is this the sound of your madness?” It was a flow of the same emotions.

Zellweger didn’t stay completely in her tracks, even though her acting work took a back seat. He filled his calendar with everything else.

– I wrote music and studied international law. I built a house, took in a couple of older rescue dogs, created a partnership that led to a production company, raised funds with a sick friend, spent a lot of time with my family and godchildren, and drove around the country with my dogs, Zellweger enumerates.

Zellweger went on hiatus after the horror movie she starred in Case 39’s success remained modest. It did not collect box office revenue as expected and critics were not impressed. Zellweger says she’s not interested in those things, though.

– I promise, I’ve never followed the box office or looked at Rotten Tomatoes, he says, referring to a movie-related website that, among other things, shares movie reviews.

– Why would I care about that? It’s none of my business.

After her hiatus, Zellweger returned to the role of Bridget Jones in the second sequel to the film series Bridget Jones’s Babywhich was released in 2016. She then garnered acclaim for her portrayal of Judy Garland in the 2019 biopic Judy.

Zellweger is back in the shoes of Bridget Jones again this year. The fourth part of the film series, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boypremieres in February.

– I think that people may recognize themselves in him and can relate to his struggles and doubts. Bridget is truly herself. He screws up sometimes, but whatever his shortcomings, he remains happy and optimistic and succeeds in his own way, says Zellweger.
