Hofmeister – ripped off and strong nerves

Hofmeister has good memories of the slope where she celebrated her first World Cup success in 2018. This time too, the slope was supposed to bring her luck.

Hofmeister, who had little success this season, benefited from the fall of her duel opponent Laila Bätschi (SUI) in the round of 16 of the parallel slalom. In the quarter-finals she reached so easily, in contrast to the Austrian Sabine Payer, she cruised confidently through the course and straight into the semi-finals and then on to the final after winning the duel with Elisa Caffont (ITA).

There she had a close duel with the Japanese world champion Tsubaki Miki. Both made mistakes, but Hofmeister was more ripped off and crossed the finish line faster in the end. It was also her first podium of the winter.

For her teammate Stefan Baumeister, however, it was already over in the round of 16. The Italian Aaron March celebrated the victory ahead of the Austrian Andreas Prommegger.

Six DSV starters fail to qualify

Melanie Hochreiter (25th) and Cheyenne Loch (29th) did not even qualify for the duels in the top 16. Among the men, one quartet did not make it past the qualification. Ole-Mikkel Prantl, Max Kühnhauser, Elias Huber and Yannik Angenend missed out on a place in the round of 16 in 17th, 18th, 19th and 21st place.
