Daughter of British presenter Richard Hammond, 55 Izzy24, recently told in a podcast how she experienced her childhood as the daughter of a TV presenter. Among other things, he stated that his father was not at home much during his childhood. Richard Hammond worked for a long time Top Gear– and The Grand Tour – as the presenter of the programs.
Izzy visited Ben Fowler’s Road to Success on the podcast a few days before his parents announced their separation. He was asked if he would call his father a daredevil or an idiot?
– We have made handbrake turns at roundabouts. I know it’s illegal so maybe it needs to be cut out. He’s an idiot. He has that characteristic of racing drivers that they are just not afraid. Everyone comes up against a limit sometimes, but he doesn’t have it, he told the Mirror magazine by.
Father Richard has been involved in several accidents over the years because of his television work. In 2006, he was involved in a serious car accident while filming the show and was in intensive care for several weeks. In 2017, in another accident, the ex-wife Amanda urged him to stop television work.
In addition, Izzy said in the podcast that her father was not always her and her sister Willow’s with.
– I always think it must be frustrating for my mum because some of my happiest memories are ironically related to my dad – maybe precisely because he wasn’t around much because he was on set.
Divorce
The British presenter announced her divorce on January 9 on the messaging service X. He was together with Amanda “Mindy” Hammond for 28 years.
– A small update from us. This Christmas we were together as a family, and this year we are still a family, just structured a little differently, Hammond writes.
– Our marriage is ending, but we have had a wonderful 28 years together and two wonderful daughters. We are always part of each other’s lives and proud of the family we have created.
