The managers do support the relatives and still regret the fatal accident from 2020. “We obviously deeply regret the fatal accident and would like to express our condolences to the relatives of the victim. The working conditions were admittedly much worse than they were in reality. Only after the investigation did we learn that the workers employed by the subcontractor were not registered. It is very difficult to bear that such terms as human trafficking are applied to us. Let us be clear: Such practices are miles away from what we as people and our family business stand for,” the managers explain.

In the meantime, the company no longer works with subcontractors. They say they have lost all their confidence in subcontractors. “We only work with employees we have hired ourselves. By monitoring everything ourselves, we can be sure that the safety and well-being of all employees is guaranteed and that something like this can never happen again.”
