Nathalie, the mother of Marco Borsato’s alleged abuse victim, is extremely pissed off at Evert Santegoeds. “I don’t need a settlement at all,” she responds.
People’s image of the Marco Borsato case has changed somewhat since Evert Santegoeds shouted just before Christmas that Nathalie, the mother of his alleged abuse victim, would suddenly want to settle. Nathalie was the chairman of the fan club for many years and according to Evert there may have been revenge after ending an affair.
Call from Marco
Just before Privé boss Evert’s statements, the competing magazine Story published a story based on a ‘very well-informed source’ who claims to have ‘close contact’ with this Nathalie. This source said: “The girl and her mother have no problem with Marco performing again or releasing new music.”
In other words: that seems to be a rapprochement and is therefore somewhat in line with what Evert said. That source also said: “She had blocked his music on Spotify, but that is no longer the case. She is happy that that is now over and no longer gets stressed when a Marco song comes on. (…) Marco could also give her a call.”
Strange story
A strange story and it raises the question who this ‘very well-established source’ is and whether it is not simply Nathalie herself who wants to send a signal. It is not entirely coincidental that Nathalie suddenly speaks in the same Story this week.
The Story writes: “Although the mother of Marco Borsato’s alleged abuse victim has not or hardly responded in the media to date in order not to influence the legal process and public opinion, she does feel the need to respond to Story.”
Settlement story
Why is Nathalie speaking now? “That has everything to do with the reporting in a national newspaper, which, after Story’s interview with the nearby source, suggested out of the blue that the mother would like to settle the case with Marco, and in this way the court case could be averted. ” said the magazine.
So this is about Evert and his Telegraaf. Nathalie says: “From the article in Story, De Telegraaf concluded that we are aiming for a settlement, and that is obviously not true. I don’t need a settlement, but apart from that, I’m not the person who could settle.”
Only witness
According to Nathalie, it is not even possible to settle. “After all, it is a case between the Public Prosecution Service and Marco Borsato. I’m just a witness — nothing more. It’s not my business.”
She says she is bothered a lot by the settlement gossip, because people go crazy about her online. “That makes it not only nonsense, but also very drastic. I’m immediately under fire again. Very nasty,” says Nathalie.
It is striking that she does not contradict the statements of Story’s so-called ‘very well-established source’. And that makes the situation – after all, she seems to be looking for rapprochement – somewhat suspicious…
