RRome, 8 Jan. (askanews) – The Italian journalist Cecilia Sala stepped out smiling from the Falcon that brought her back to Italy, freed after a few weeks of detention in Iran. The plane landed at Ciampino military airport, as soon as she got off she ran to embrace her partner Daniele Raineri, also a journalist, and her parents Elisabetta Vernoni and Renato Sala, then the meeting with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and the Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani.

“Now you just have to stay calm, don’t say anything. I’m here to thank you and to tell you that you were strong.” This is how Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni welcomed Cecilia Sala to Ciampino. “Thank you”, the journalist told her, to which the Prime Minister replied: “And imagine that”.
