An incident between Ice-T and a police officer escalated during a traffic stop in New Jersey in May 2024. The rapper’s tirade is now circulating online as a video.
“You don’t have to take it so seriously”
In the recently released bodycam footage, the “Original Gangster” interpreter can be seen getting into a heated argument with a police officer. The officer stopped him because his license plate had expired.
The clip shows Ice-T in his car, which was apparently stopped a few meters from a vehicle registration office (DMV). The 66-year-old handed over his vehicle documents to the police officer while he was still trying to get out of the affair. “Yesterday I went to the DMV and was told their system was down. I have seven cars and I’m trying to get them all in order. You don’t have to take it so seriously. “You can, but you don’t have to,” he provoked.

“If I don’t get arrested, I’ll get out.”
The police officer, in turn, was adamant. He asked if Ice-T had an appointment with the admissions office. The Body Count frontman replied: “I don’t need anyone, they know me”. When the officer then threatened to tow the vehicle, the situation escalated and Ice-T burst his collar: “If I don’t get arrested, I’ll get out. Give me my papers, you fucking asshole.”
After he got out of his Porsche, he directed his anger directly at the officer’s camera: “Keep filming. I’m only half a meter away from the admissions office. You’re an asshole!”
In the end, the law enforcement officer issued the musician four fines, including for an expired driver’s license, lack of registration, incomplete vehicle documents and a missed inspection. The “Judgment Day” actor briefly commented on the recently released recordings on social media: “That’s a year old… lol.”
