Due to a defective overhead line, train traffic around Schiphol Airport will be at a standstill this Sunday. The NS expected that ProRail only resolved the problems on Monday at 2 a.m. Until then, travelers must arrange alternative transportation to or from the airport.

Passengers on other train routes also suffer from the broken overhead lines. Fewer intercity trains run between The Hague Central Station and Leiden and between Rotterdam Central Station and Breda, among others.

All in all, Sunday was a day to stay home. Due to the winter weather, Schiphol canceled dozens of flights and several motorists lost control on the slippery roads.
