Actor and singer Soy Kroon (29) from Eindhoven has won the popular television program The Masked Singer. After nine weeks of speculation, it was revealed on Saturday evening that he was the Pegasus. In the final he competed against the Hedgehog, but the winged horse managed to get the most votes from the public.

The Masked Singer is a singing competition where it is not about the most beautiful voice, but about the identity of the participants. For nine weeks, Dutch celebrities dress up in special costumes in which they perform in disguise. The jury, consisting of Gerard Joling, Buddy Vedder, Carlo Boszhard, Loretta Schrijver and Monica Geuze, has to guess who is in the costume.

The audience and viewers at home are busy speculating with the jury about who is hidden in the suits. Throughout the episodes, hints are given about the singing characters. Each episode the audience can vote for their favorite.

The characters with the fewest votes are revealed. In the final, the Hedgehog, the Baboon, Pegasus and Kangaroo faced each other as crowd favorites. The Pegasus became the big winner and that turned out to be Soy Kroon.

While one jury member thought it was Charly Luske, the other thought it was the singer of Di-rect. When the mask came off and it turned out to be Soy, everyone was surprised. “This is not possible! Soy, what have you done with Charlie Luske?”, screams Carlo Boszhard in amazement. “Are we the dumbest panel in the Netherlands?” Loretta Schrijver asks herself, at which Soy laughs. “I know you all so well, this is great. How good!”
