Leon Draisaitl once again helped the Edmonton Oilers to victory in the NHL. Germany’s ice hockey star scored the winning goal in the home game against the Anaheim Ducks 95 seconds before the end of the game to make the final score 3-2.

It was his 28th goal of the season and the 13th game in a row in which the national player recorded at least one point.

“I am very proud of the fact that I always step in when it is needed most, that is something that is very important to me,” said Draisaitl.

For the ninth time this season, the 29-year-old, who signed a record eight-year, $112 million contract in Canada before the start of the season, scored the winning goal for his team. He also continues to lead the NHL scoring charts.

Edmonton is on course for the playoffs with 50 points, but there is still around half of the regular season to complete.

Pack for Stützles Senators

Meanwhile, Tim Stützle suffered a defeat with the Ottawa Senators by losing 4-0 to the St. Louis Blues.

Lukas Reichel was missing from the Chicago Blackhawks, who stopped their negative streak of five defeats in a row with a 4:2 win against the Montreal Canadiens and redeemed themselves for the 2:6 defeat against St. Louis in the Winter Classic Game.
