Felix Magath was supposed to come, but canceled. Now the Unterhaching game association has announced a new coach.

Heiko Herrlich is the new coach at third division bottom club Unterhaching. The former Bundesliga goalscorer (Gladbach, Dortmund) is coming to Bavaria instead of Felix Magath, who was recently traded. Herrlich last coached FC Augsburg four years ago.

“I’m really looking forward to being part of the Haching family again. My memories of the past time at the game association are only positive, especially when it comes to the family atmosphere and cohesion in Unterhaching,” said Herrlich in an official statement . “Now it’s time to pool all our strengths and do everything we can to keep the 3rd league. Together with the well-rehearsed coaching staff around Sven Bender, all the employees and of course the fans, I am firmly convinced that we can do this together. “

The 53-year-old Herrlich was on the sidelines in Unterhaching during the 2011/12 season and, according to the club, is signing a long-term contract. Former BVB star Sven Bender, who looked after the team as interim coach in the last three games of the preliminary round, will remain with the team as assistant coach.
