The goalkeeper will remain in blue until 2026, with an option to extend for another season
Alex Meret and Napoli will continue together, at least until the end of next season. In fact, the parties have recently reached an agreement for the renewal of the goalkeeper’s contract. The deadline will be extended by one year, from 2025 to 2026. Furthermore, an option will be inserted in favor of the club to extend the agreement for a further season, therefore until 2027. Meret, therefore, consolidates its status as veteran for Napoli, with whom he won a championship as a protagonist in 2023. Although he has often been questioned, also due to the various physical problems suffered during his experience with the Azzurri, he also convinced Antonio Conte, who is ready to focus on him for the next championship too.
OTHER MOVEMENTS IN GOAL

Now that Meret’s position has been practically defined, Giovanni Manna can devote himself to closing another operation. This is the Caprile-Scuffet loan exchange with Cagliari. The rossoblù will have at their disposal the right of redemption for the former Bari and Empoli goalkeeper, set at 8 million euros, to be exercised possibly in June. Meret and Scuffet, moreover, share a past in Udinese’s youth team, even if the current Napoli goalkeeper has only made two appearances in official matches with the Bianconeri, in the 2015-16 Italian Cup.
