The Rijkswaterstaat gritters have come into full action. It may snow in various places in our province on Friday. To combat possible slipperiness, more than 2.5 million kilos of salt have already been spread since Thursday evening.

The gritters spread throughout the Netherlands last night. Around seven o’clock gritters are still active on roads around Breda, Ulvenhout and Zevenbergen, among others. The roads around Den Bosch, Oss, Tilburg and Eindhoven have also been discussed, as can be seen on the Rijkswaterstaat scatter map.

Since Thursday evening, the gritters have driven almost 35,000 kilometers through the Netherlands. Rijkswaterstaat has a total of 577 gritters. In addition, approximately 630 snow plows are ready.

It may snow in various places in Brabant on Friday. It mainly concerns wet snow, as the Weerplaza weatherman predicted on Thursday morning. In some places the snow may remain for a while. Freezing can make the roads slippery in the mornings and evenings. It will snow again next Sunday morning.
