Agreement possible: BVB top scorer before the jump?

Donyell Malen played more than 130 games for Borussia Dortmund. But perhaps no more will be added.
Donyell Malen is apparently about to move to Aston Villa. As “The Athletic” and Sky Sports report, among others, negotiations are ongoing between the Premier League club and BVB, which currently still owns Malen. An initial offer from Villa is said to have been between 16 and 18 million euros.
BVB rejected this offer. According to Sky Sports, the demand is around 20 million euros plus bonus payments. A sum that Aston Villa could manage. Malen’s contract in Dortmund is valid until 2026, and there was no prospect of an extension anyway.
Painting itself should also be open to change. The Dutchman has reportedly flirted with the Premier League in the past and only changed his consulting agency in the fall.
At BVB this season, Malen has always rotated between the starting eleven and the bench, rarely playing the full 90 minutes. The winger scored five goals in 20 competitive games. In total, he scored 39 goals in 131 games for BVB. In the summer of 2021 he came from PSV Eindhoven for 30 million euros and was able to impress in the following two seasons after a rather disappointing first year.
