Dennis Schröder suffered another bitter defeat with the Golden State Warriors in the NBA. The Warriors clearly lost to the surprise team of the Cleveland Cavaliers 95:113 (38:46).
Schröder was in the starting line-up and had twelve points, four rebounds and three assists, but he also had four turnovers. In addition, Stephen Curry had a weak day with only eleven points.
Dennis Schröder has now lost five of his seven games with the Warriors since moving from Brooklyn to San Francisco in mid-December.
It was the seventh win in a row for Cleveland, which currently has the best record in the NBA with 28 wins and just four defeats.
NBA: Kleber and Theis also lose
Things didn’t go any better for the other Germans. Maxi Kleber and the Dallas Mavericks lost 100:110 to the Sacramento Kings. In addition to the long-term injured Luka Doncic, the Mavericks were also missing Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson.
Kleber played almost 30 minutes off the bench but didn’t score any points. For the Kings it was the first win under interim coach Doug Christie and the first after six defeats in a row.
Meanwhile, the New Orleans Pelicans with Daniel Theis also lost their tenth game in a row; a win would have been possible with a 113:116 win against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Theis had six points and two rebounds and blocks in just over ten minutes on the floor against the team he played for last season.
Hukporti remains on the bench
At least Ariel Hukporti could see a victory. However, the German rookie did not play any minutes in his New York Knicks’ 126:106 defeat at the Washington Wizards.
The Knicks are in third place in the East after their eighth win in a row, but the 22-year-old Hukporti was only on the field for two minutes during the winning streak after a few appearances at the start of the season.
