Move to England?
Transfer rumor about ex-Bayern star

Seven and a half years ago, FC Bayern paid Lyon more than 40 million euros for Corentin Tolisso. He returned in the summer of 2022. Now there is interest in the world champion again.
Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion have targeted Corentin Tolisso from Olympique Lyon, reports L’Équipe. The 2018 world champion fits the requirements profile of the “Seagulls” perfectly.
The Premier League’s tenth-place team is looking for an experienced midfielder. Tolisso, who has found his old strength again after a mixed last season, could fill this gap. According to reports, Brighton officials have asked both Olympique Lyonnais and the player directly about the possibility of a move. But a transfer of the former Bayern player, Tolisso played in Munich from 2017 to 2022, appears difficult in the winter.
According to L’Équipe, Tolisso was flattered by the interest, but preferred to stay in Lyon for the time being. The 30-year-old feels comfortable at his training club, where he pursues ambitious sporting goals together with Alexandre Lacazette.
While Tolisso is critical of a move, Lyon could be forced to sell for economic reasons. The club needs to generate income. Tolisso, who is under contract until 2027 and earns around 600,000 euros gross per month, is one of the highest-earning players in the squad. A transfer could ease the strain on the salary structure.
It remains to be seen whether Brighton can score points with a convincing offer. But a player of Tolisso’s caliber would be a real asset for the English club.
