In the run-up to the Olympic Games, the relay team is one of the contenders for a medal. In recent years, the team, with Lisanne de Witte, Lieke Klaver and Femke Bol as strong players, has already proven itself on the world stage. Last year, the women’s 4×400 meters took gold at the world championships in Budapest.

Although the individual races at De Witte have been with varying degrees of success in recent years, the athlete has emerged as the ‘mother of the relay’ in the relay. While all athletes only last a few years, De Witte is now in his thirties with a wealth of experience. She knows how to pass on that experience to her ‘children’ in order to bring out the best in everyone.

Olympic final

The relay team is running a very strong tournament in Paris. At the World Championships, De Witte still has to watch her teammates run the final, but at the Olympic Games she is an undisputed runner. Together with Bol, Klaver and Cathelijn Peeters, she rushes to silver, behind the United States.
