Domenica Russo (Salerno, 1989) began her career as an investigator shortly after obtaining a degree in Humanities. «On the bedside table I keep Oriana Fallaci’s biography. If I hadn’t fallen in love with my jobwhich I learned in the field, I would have liked to be a journalist. They are two professions where the search for truth and the investigative spirit count a lot.”
Since 2018, Russo has been HR & Organization Manager of Excursus Groupa business intelligence company with offices in Salerno, Rome and Milan.

«The meetings in the company begin with the analysis and information teams. We verify any critical issues in existing intelligence operations; we carry out inspections, including virtual ones, to decide where to park the “whales” – the vans equipped with cameras and recorders on board – and we prepare the agenda of the investigator team. I miss field work a bit. I started my career as a shadower: I installed GPS under cars and carried out stakeouts.”

«I dedicate myself to consultancy decreeing the feasibility or legitimacy of customer requests. My company mainly deals with business intelligence. That is, we collaborate with human resources managers and support them in the preventive phase during hiring, checking the CVs of candidates for top positions, and for the various pending situations in the event of dismissal. We often deal with cases of unfair competition or absenteeism. In recent years, I have noticed that it is not always money that is the basis of employees’ incorrect behavior, but rather the lack of motivation and valorisation within a company.”

«I organize training sessions on the subject of cyber securitysimulating cyber attacks in companies. The weakest link in security is people: all you need to do is absentmindedly insert a flash drive into your computer or fall for phishing (scam messages sent to convince you to enter your confidential data online, ed) to cause a leak of sensitive data”.

«While I bathe Edoardo, my husband prepares dinner. He comes from a family of restaurateurs and his trofie with sausage, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes are a masterpiece!

«If the baby is sleeping I watch an episode of The Lincoln Lawyer. Since I’ve been a mother, I’ve applied a patch on my eyes every evening and, when I can, I relax with a beauty routine complete with facial masks.”
