Anyone who knows 37-year-old Johnny from Loosdrecht also knows his iguana Jack. The resident of Robberse Eiland proudly presents his pet to every passer-by. Quite a few people are sometimes shocked by the large reptile, but according to Johnny there is no need for that: “He won’t hurt you, you can just pet him!”
Johnny has an intellectual disability and lives with 21 others on Robberse Eiland. They are supervised by the Abrona care agency, which offers them social support and provides activities and work.
