Jeroen Pauw is not trying to rope in Linda de Mol for a major TV interview, for example in his talk show Bar Laat. “If people don’t want to talk about their private lives, then don’t.”
TV critics such as Angela de Jong, Catherine Keyl and Victor Vlam believe that Linda de Mol urgently needs to clarify her prior knowledge in the Voice scandal, but she still refuses to give an interview to an independent medium. Catherine thinks it’s a great job for Jeroen Pauw, but what does he think?
No hunting for Linda
Jeroen himself gives in the Story indicates that this is not yet the case. “I never asked Linda to tell her story. That’s not because I wouldn’t like it, but because Linda has made it clear not to talk about it. If people don’t want to talk about their private lives, then don’t.”
But, he continues: “If she wanted to, I would like it. Linda is a great talk show guest. But I’m not chasing her to get this interview.”
A bit difficult
Does Jeroen find it uncomfortable that Linda has again chosen a relationship with Jeroen Rietbergen, also known as Vieze Jeroentje? “I find it a bit difficult. We are talking about a woman who is cheated on by her husband and then attacked very harshly by everyone.”
Linda doesn’t deserve that either, according to the talk show host. “As if she is someone who has done all kinds of things wrong. I find that uncomfortable.”
That’s the thing: Linda appears to have failed when it comes to how she acted on her inside information about the Voice scandal.
‘It’s sad’
However, according to Jeroen, Linda does not deserve critical treatment at all. “It’s sad that someone who does almost everything well gets criticized because she also has to do this one thing well. I then think: nothing human is foreign to us.”
“Sometimes we all do things and think: I should have done that differently. I also understand that if you become so disillusioned about what you hear, you think: give it a while.”
Well, we can also cross off Jeroen for the big Linda interview…
