JonBenét himself does not know that he is still known around the world. He was brutally murdered on Boxing Day 1996 at his home in Boulder, Colorado.
The murder has been the subject of books, podcast episodes, TV shows and most recently a Netflix series Unsolved case: The murder of Lapsimiss. The interest in the murder has never waned, and the reason is clear: JonBenét was only six years old when he died, he was an orphan, and the murder is unsolved.
JonBené was found dead in the wine cellar of his home, wearing a white blanket. The body was found by JonBenét’s father John Ramsey or at least that’s what he said. The father carried the body to the house next to the Christmas tree, where the police retrieved it.
JonBenét had been strangled and had a fractured skull. The cause of death was suffocation and a skull fracture.

Lapsimissi’s mother has been on the list of suspects for JonBenét’s murder. Other family members have also been suspected, but at least no evidence has been made public that would support the involvement of family members.
