The Italian vessel is 21 meters long and smaller than the 150 model but very well equipped

Wally has been part of the Ferretti Group for five years but in 2024 he celebrated his first thirty years of activity. Founded by Luca Bassani Antivari in 1994, the Italian brand has totally changed the concept of yachts by creating revolutionary sailing and motor boats, which have become points of reference in the world of boating and design. One of the design masterpieces is represented by the so-called ‘spaceships’ (literally space ships, to play on the choice of futuristic lines, but technically they are open boats) grouped in the wallywhy line. The latest addition to celebrate the anniversary is wallywhy100, a 21-metre yacht that can be defined as the little brother of the wallywhy150 and the legendary forefather wallywhy200. The design leaves no doubt that it is Wally: linear surfaces, superstructure with a streamlined profile and extensive use of darkened glass both in the superstructure itself and in the hull. The sloping waterline is one of the few curves on this yacht.

It is almost six meters wide

The new wallywhy100 offers slightly less external surface area than its bigger sisters, but takes the same approach. With an overall length of 21.46 meters and a beam of 5.73 metres, the hull extends its width towards the bow – starboard in Wally style – compared to most yachts. In this way the volume is comparable to that of boats of greater length. The single-level configuration features the iconic glass superstructure stealth stylewith areas open plan living and a large terrace overlooking the sea, creating a single whole from bow to stern. This solution redefines the way to connect with the sea and the surrounding environment: a large guest area that extends seamlessly from the lounge to the dining room, up to the terrace overlooking the sea, where the internal and external spaces blend perfectly .

A TERRACE ON THE SEA

Life on board a wallywhy100 takes place near the water. The glass superstructure floods a 6-8 person table and comfortable sofas with natural light, all with stunning 360 degree views. Here there are also sun loungers, in the shade of the hardtop, and others placed under the shelter of the bow walls. At the stern, other sun loungers are positioned in the space that descends three steps towards the large bathing platform. The two collapsible walls extend this space on both sides, transforming the aft deck into a real 14 square meter terrace overlooking the sea. The hydraulic platform allows the launching of tenders and water toys up to 3.6 meters in length, while the gangway with hydraulic ladder ensures easy access to the water or dock. The folding walls at the stern expand the terrace by almost 50% offering an unobstructed view of the sea. In the interior design, curated by Studio Vallicelli Design, carbon fiber elements are combined with wooden panels, light upholstery and indirect lights. The informal and minimal approach is perfectly aligned with Wally’s external concept.

THREE CABINS

Next to the two enveloping seats with separate backrests for the captain and the navigator (beautiful, in pure Wally style), two twin staircases go down to the lower deck. One leads to the crew’s quarters in the bow, while the other provides access to the two guest cabins, each with a private bathroom. The master cabin, located amidships, is full beam. A king-size double bed offers comfort and expansive sea views thanks to large side windows. On the left is the main bathroom with shower and separate toilet. The kitchen is located in the bow. Even if Wally didn’t focus on pure speed, performance remains a central aspect of the project. Wallywhy100 is equipped with two Volvo Penta IPS1350 engines of 1000 HP each, capable of making the yacht reach a maximum speed of 27 knots and a cruising speed of 24 knots, with a range of 340 nautical miles. But with a boat like this, it’s clear that you feel good (and very comfortable) even when you’re at anchor.
