Finnish Mark Levengood this year had the honor of hosting the Swedish public radio company SVT’s Christmas broadcast. So he was the Christmas host of the program.

The broadcast is one of the most watched programs in Sweden every year, and it features guest artists and shows cartoons, as is also familiar in Finland Samu Sirka’s Christmas greeting.

However, Levengood had a small mishap right at the beginning of the broadcast.

Levengood wore red, silk pants, in the back pocket of which he kept a microphone transmitter and a snuff puck. Surprisingly, the transmitter pulled the disk out just as the Christmas broadcast started. The puck rolled along the studio floor and was visible on the broadcast.

Levengood himself was not upset about what happened after the program.

– That [purkki] stayed there on the floor. Something always happens, it’s typical. My friends will surely tease me about this. I myself did not see it at all, Levengood told Aftonbladet.

Levengood only realized the mistake after the broadcast.

– I heard that the picture producer tried to crop the jar out of sight, but it didn’t work, it was too late.

Despite the blunder, Levengood’s drunkenness drew praise. In Aftonbladet’s survey, as many as 55 percent gave Levengood a full five stars for his job.

– It feels really good! That’s great to hear, cheers,” Levegood said.

– I want to thank everyone for the support. It is an incredibly great honor to be a Christmas host. I am very happy if many felt that I carried my responsibility and did my best.

As many as 27,000 votes were cast in Aftonbladet’s polls.

Mark Levengood has had a long career as a presenter and journalist. PDO
