On Sunday, Hamburger SV announced that interim coach Merlin Polzin will remain head coach after the winter break. According to a recent media report, the 34-year-old was not the first choice when looking for a Baumgart successor. Apparently HSV agreed with a head coach of a competitor from the 2nd Bundesliga.
