Jake Paul made a stink for the USA winning the World Cup. PDO
American star Jake Paul, now well-known in boxing circles, made a rather bold bet on the winner of the World Cup in soccer.
Paul, 29, threw himself as a proper patriot when he bet tens of thousands of dollars for the United States to win the World Cup.
– Well, I’m placing the biggest bet of my life on Polymarket (decentralized “prediction marketplace”) [32 000 dollaria] for the USA to win the World Cup. That would bring me $1.776 million. Pretty exciting, Paul stated according to TMZ.
If Paul’s claim is true, he made a bet of 27,558.7 euros at the current exchange rate. If the USA wins the gold, Paul will earn 1.5 million euros.
The USA is not among the biggest championship favorites in this summer’s prestigious tournament, even though it defeated Paraguay 4-1 in its opening match.
The USA reached the quarterfinals in the 2002 World Championships. Its best ranking is from 1930, when it was third.
The USA will still face Australia and Turkey in the opening group.
Paul, who took a bold bet, initially became known as a YouTube star. He started his boxing career in 2020, after which he has faced, among others Anderson SilvaTommy Fury, Mike Tyson and Anthony Joshua. Paul lost the most recent match, which took place in December 2025, to Joshua.
Paul has also been featured through his girlfriend Jutta Leerdam. Leerdam, 27, won gold in speed skating at the Milan–Cortina Olympics in February, while Paul watched the race from the stands.
