Are Real Madrid planning to sell Alaba?

David Alaba has been under contract with Real for three years. He is currently working on his comeback after an injury. The club is reportedly considering selling him.
David Alaba would probably have wished for a different year in terms of sport. The Real Madrid defender suffered a torn cruciate ligament in his left knee in a La Liga game against Villareal in December 2023. Due to the injury, the captain of the Austrian national team missed the European Football Championship this summer and also the start of the current season.
Most recently, “Marca” reported that Alaba could make his comeback for Real in January. According to the Spanish portal “Fichajes.net”, the “Royals” are thinking about selling the former FC Bayern player in the summer of 2025. The club is therefore worried about Alaba’s injuries. He still has a contract in Madrid until 2026.
The Austrian joined the current second-place team in the Spanish league in the summer of 2021 and has struggled with several injuries since then. Muscular problems, adductor problems and a thigh injury repeatedly set the 32-year-old central defender back.
So would Alaba return to the German record champions possible? FC Bayern is not directly named in the report. But Alaba’s past in Munich gives rise to speculation. The defender celebrated great success in Munich. He became German champion ten times and also won the Champions League twice with Bayern.
