PARAMARIBO – The hearse containing the remains of Desi Bouterse left his home for the morgue on Wednesday morning local time. A police car drives in front of the car with the coffin in it, and party members drive in a procession behind it. Friends and supporters of the late ex-president are saddened and did not see his death coming.
