In Alexandra Palace the arrows are whizzing towards the target again. The sport’s top players meet at the Darts World Cup in London. t-online tells you who is dueling with whom and when.
It is the highlight of the year for all darts fans: the world championship in London’s legendary Alexandra Palace, popularly known as “Ally Pally”. Here the grandees of darts gradually meet each other in exciting one-on-one duels, throwing dart after dart, 180 after 180, until a new world champion is crowned at the end.
The reigning champion is the Englishman Luke Humphries, but the competition for the 29-year-old on the way to defending his title is fierce and another victory is by no means guaranteed. The darts elite is preparing to dethrone the world champion.
At the start of the tournament there were six German darts professionals in the field of participants: Kai Gotthardt, Ricardo Pietreczko, Gabriel Clemens, Niko Springer, Florian Hempel and Martin Schindler. But Clemens, who made it to the semi-finals in 2022, disappointed and was thrown out in his first game. “Gaga” had to admit defeat to Welshman Robert Owen. Kai Gotthardt, Niko Springer and Germany’s number one, Martin Schindler, have also had to say goodbye.
One day before Christmas Florian Hempel also suffered a loss to Daryl Gurney. Germany’s last hope: Ricardo Pietreczko. “Pikachu” surprisingly prevailed against the Dutchman Gian van Veen.
Find out with the t-online game panel when Pietreczko will next take the board and when it will be the turn of the stars of the scene. You will also find out how the matches ended here every day.
