Borussia Dortmund may have to fear the departure of regular goalkeeper Gregor Kobel. However, BVB is said to have initially deterred two interested parties with its horrendous transfer fee demands.
According to Turkish transfer expert Ekrem Konur, these are Italy’s champions Inter Milan and the perpetually troubled Premier League problem child Manchester United. Both have Gregor Kobel on their list, but are not planning any concrete steps in the near future because of the BVB price tag, he writes at X.
It is not clear from the post how much money the Dortmunders are supposedly asking for the 27-year-old Swiss. Kobel’s market value is estimated at around 40 million euros.
The hottest contenders for a possible commitment shouldn’t be Inter or United anyway. Instead, Chelsea FC has serious hopes for a transfer next summer, “Bild” recently wrote.
Changes in personnel could therefore occur if BVB misses qualification for the Champions League. This scenario is not unrealistic: the black and yellow are currently only in sixth place in the table after a disappointing first half of the season.
Chelsea was even prepared to transfer 70 to 80 million euros to BVB for Kobel, the report continued.
