Real estate agent and track cyclist Mira Kasslin46, talks about his cancer Double lifeon the podcast. Kasslin announced in June that she had been diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer.
According to Kasslin, the cancer was discovered when he went to examine a lump in his chest. The cancer news came as a shock to him. She remembers that she immediately told her husband about it via text message. The rest of the family was told about it only after a little consideration.
– Had to swallow and check the facts for a while. What does this mean? What are predictions? He recalls in the episode that he doesn’t start talking about unnecessary things, even though cancer must always be taken seriously.

According to Kasslin, her treatments were aimed at healing rather than slowing down, as her cancer had not spread to other parts of her body. He says that he is still undergoing radiation treatments, but the active treatments are “a long way from the finish line”.
– It is already known that my treatment responses have been perfect. That way, we’re in the middle of nowhere. The cancer is cured, he reveals in the episode.
– I still can’t get the health papers. The biological medication continues until spring, there are controls and so on. Of course, my type of cancer has a high risk of recurrence, but it has removed the fear that it would dominate my life in any way. My treatments have been incredibly successful. We’re still making sure it doesn’t happen again, he elaborates later in the episode.
Kasslin describes the past year as “in a fog”. He says that he has received cytostat treatments for half a year since the summer.
– They are probably the hardest thing you can give a person in order to stay alive. Yes, it affects all levels, and it is extremely tough mentally. In addition to that, it is also physically tough, says the real estate agent.
– When you think about this point, man is an extremely fine institution and strives to correct himself. The mind clings to life so strongly that time fades into memory surprisingly quickly, he states.

Kasslin feels that his illness has at the same time brought some of his relationships closer, but also distanced them.
– It’s difficult for people when they think about what to say. How can you approach? Do you have to let someone get sick in peace? Can I be in touch? I personally feel that even if those words don’t quite go down well, they are still more important than silence, in a way… you can’t say that you reject, but you don’t dare to come close, he reminds.
Kasslin became famous in the 1990s through his successful track cycling career. Later, he has made a career as a real estate agent and entrepreneur.
