US central bank cuts interest rates again

The US central bank (Federal Reserve or Fed) cut interest rates on Wednesday for the third time since September, this time by 25 basis points. That happened with eleven votes in favor and one against. The interest rate in the US now fluctuates between 4.25 and 4.50 percent, or one percent lower than at the start of the series of interest rate cuts. This cut was widely expected.
