At FC Bayern, the contracts of seven players with a total value of 183 million euros expire in 2025. Manuel Neuer is one of them – and is facing an extension. According to the TV channel “Sky”, everything is in place for this.

The 38-year-old Neuer should extend his contract by one season. The new contract is ready to be signed, but it is still unclear when the final step will be taken and what time will be chosen for the announcement. Neuer is already in fourth place in the ranking of the oldest players in Bavaria’s history. He could move up to second place this season. Bernd Dreher was the oldest in May 2007 at 40 years, six months and 17 days.

Captain Neuer has been playing for FC Bayern since 2011 and is still the most expensive German goalkeeper to date. The Munich team paid 30 million euros to FC Schalke 04. Since then, Neuer has made 540 appearances for FCB, which is more than seven players in the club’s history. “I think both sides would be happy if it continued. But there is no rush now. I have to get well first. “I still have a little problem with my rib,” “Bild” quoted Neuer from a fan club visit in Hopferbach.

The goalkeeper suffered a broken rib in the cup defeat against Bayer Leverkusen (0-1) in a foul on Jeremie Frimpong, for which he was shown a red card. “He probably won’t play again this year. The important thing is that it heals now. Then hopefully we’ll have Manu back from January,” said coach Vincent Kompany.

According to the club, Neuer’s first substitute, Sven Ulreich, is unavailable for personal reasons until further notice, which is why Daniel Peretz is currently being used. In the long term, Alexander Nübel is likely to replace Neuer; the 28-year-old has been on loan to VfB Stuttgart since 2023, and last year the loan was extended until 2026. But according to consistent media reports, FC Bayern has a cancellation option next year in order to bring Nübel back early under already fixed conditions. His contract in Munich runs until 2029.
