The German ski racers were also unable to intervene in the decision at the Super G in Beaver Creek.
Kira Weidle-Winkelmann made a driving error early on, a little later she drove past a gate and was eliminated. The 28-year-old had skipped the descent on Saturday because of a gastrointestinal infection.
Emma Aicher was slowed down by the wind at times and came 28th. In the downhill, the 21-year-old only came 43rd out of 44 starters.
Sofia Goggia from Italy won in the USA. The long-injured 2018 Olympic downhill champion set the clear best time of 1:03.90 minutes.
Lara Gut-Behrami from Switzerland came in second, almost half a second behind. Surprisingly, third place went to the Austrian Ariane Rädler ahead of her teammate Cornelia Hütter, who won the downhill ahead of Goggia on Saturday.
Vonn tests for comeback again
There will be two Super-G competitions in St. Moritz next weekend. The focus should then be on Lindsey Vonn, who is celebrating a comeback at the age of 40. She was already there as a forerunner in Beaver Creek. There were no official times, but according to observers in Colorado, Vonn was already making a competitive impression again.
