Willem II won the game against PEC Zwolle 0-1. In the eleventh minute, the only goal of the match was scored by midfielder Ringo Meerveld.
After losing two games, Willem II managed to recover and the team was able to return to its home base of Tilburg with three points in the bag. Thanks to the win, Willem II climbs to tenth place in the rankings for the time being.
The team managed to secure the win even though this season’s best shooters were not on the field. Cisse Sandra and Kyan Vaesen, both good for four goals, were missing due to injuries. Still, the people of Tilburg managed to hold on well. The winning goal came early in the match. In the eleventh minute, midfielder Ringo Meerveld shot the ball into the Zwolle goal.
Towards the end of the match, PEC increased the pressure and almost scored a goal. Willem II player Jesse Bosch almost headed a cross from the Zwolle team into his own goal. Fortunately, Bosch escaped unscathed, because the header ended up on the post of his own goal.
