After the ZDF fundraising gala, Health Minister Karl Lauterbach posted a picture with Toni Kroos. His caption surprises many.
Health Minister Karl Lauterbach drew attention to himself with unintentional humor on Instagram. After the ZDF fundraising gala “A Heart for Children”, at which world champion Toni Kroos and many other celebrities were guests on Saturday, Lauterbach posted a photo with the 2014 world champion. His caption made football fans smile.
Lauterbach wrote under the shared picture: “Tony Kroos, the cross god. As a former ambitious left winger, with great ambition and no talent, I can only bow…”
The reactions didn’t take long to arrive. The first thing that caught the eye was the spelling error: Instead of “Toni”, Lauterbach chose the English spelling “Tony”. But the name “Flankengott” in particular surprised some users. Kroos, known for his precise passing and vision in midfield, was never famous for his crosses.
One Instagram user commented: “Tony, who doesn’t know him?”, garnished with a laughing emoji. Another wrote: “But you are also a great Professor Lauterbach.”
Despite the mishap, the focus at the gala was again on Kroos’ commitment in the comments. The former professional, who was recognized for his own foundation, received the “Golden Heart”. Kroos donated 100,000 euros.
