Huh?! Eva Jinek had Rob Kemps on her talk show last night to talk about Charles Aznavour, but who was sitting next to him? André van Duin! “Didn’t she dare to attack Matthijs?”
Rob Kemps can’t stop talking about it: French cemeteries and Charles Aznavour. When the French singer is mentioned somewhere on television, the Snollebol is always at the table. In fact, he has made entire program series about it with Matthijs van Nieuwkerk. But he wasn’t sitting next to him last night in Eva Jinek’s talk show…
Where is Matthijs?
There is a film about Aznavour coming up and the presenter, in addition to Rob, had invited none other than André van Duin. And that caused some discomfort for some viewers, because at such a moment Matthijs’ absence becomes very painfully clear. Nowadays we only see them pissing along the A1.
Talk show expert Victor Vlam finds it striking. “The conversation about Aznavour at Eva was ideally suited to invite Matthijs van Nieuwkerk. Still at its old time slot! Didn’t Jinek dare?” he writes X.
Strong criticism?
Wouldn’t Matthijs’ actions have led to strong criticism? “I do think this could have been done. This was even a better comeback on TV than a guest appearance on De Oranjezomer, as happened this summer. He can really shine about Aznavour,” said Victor.
GroenLinks councilor Huub Bellemakers is surprised: “Because Matthijs van Nieuwkerk is the only one who should be talking about Aznavour?”
Biggest fan
Not that, says Victor. “He is not the only fan, but he is the most famous. And it wouldn’t be crazy to ask him.”
When you say Aznavour, you immediately think of the DWDD presenter, according to the media expert. “Matthijs is the biggest Aznavour fan (among celebrities, anyway). He even published a book about it. And his return would have brought in many additional viewers. It would have been a surprise booking.”
