VfB Stuttgart is apparently preparing for a possible departure of midfielder Enzo Millot. Paul Wanner allegedly also plays a role in the planning. The Bayern talent is currently on loan at 1. FC Heidenheim.

As the TV channel “Sky” reports, Wanner is one of the possible candidates to succeed Millot. The Frenchman has been in the spotlight with strong performances over the past few months and the preseason. According to Sky, he could leave the Swabians in the summer for an exit clause of 18 to 20 million euros.

In order to be prepared for the possible change of captain of the French U21 national team, VfB is apparently already exploring the market.

Wanner’s personality has already been discussed internally. However, there have been no concrete discussions with the 18-year-old’s management or FC Bayern so far.

With his technical qualities and development potential, he fits perfectly into the requirements profile of the runner-up, the report continues.

Double winner Bayer Leverkusen is also reportedly interested in the offensive man.

Friend: Bavaria is planning with Wanner

Bayern’s sports director Christoph Freund recently made clear statements about Wanner’s future. The young talent has been on loan to 1. FC Heidenheim since this season and has five goals and two assists in 19 competitive games.

“As FC Bayern, we are certainly planning with Paul Wanner in the future. We are in regular contact with Paul. We are very happy with his development,” said Freund at a press conference before the game against 1. FC Heidenheim last week.

The loan to Heidenheim was “a logical next step” in Wanner’s career. The 18-year-old had a “very good start,” said Freund: “Now he is going through a more difficult phase. But this is a very, very important experience that he is gaining.”

Wanner still has a long-term contract with FC Bayern until 2027.
