These are the big sedans, cars for big highway travelers and business executives. Prices are almost always on the high end. Large sedans: dimensions and characteristics

This category includes cars with a bodywork in the shape of a classic three-volume sedan, therefore a fairly long tail (although it has now been significantly shorter than in the past) and a trunk physically separated from the passenger compartment, although there are now several models with rear seats. collapsible. Large sedans: advantages and disadvantages

The large sedan is designed for long journeys, especially on motorways. It must travel many kilometers and offer not only plenty of space for passengers and luggage, but also high-level comfort and equipment. Engines are generally powerful or very powerful, of all power supplies: petrol, diesel, mild hybrid or plug-in hybrid. And also electric, lately. These are the advantages.

From which also derive the disadvantages: large dimensions, therefore difficulty in maneuvering in narrow city spaces, some problems with the garages in the cities and some hotels. Heavy weight, so consumption can go up if you let yourself go with the accelerator. But large sedans usually have the advantage of very good aerodynamic efficiency, so if you maintain moderate and constant speeds you can manage to consume relatively little. Prices, as mentioned, can be very high.

Large Audi sedans: models and prices

The Audi A6 is the quintessential large Audi sedan (also available as a station wagon with the traditional Avant version). Length 4,939mm. Large BMW sedans: models and prices

Traditionally large BMW sedans are represented by the BMW 5 Series (also available as a Touring station wagon). Length 4,963 mm. The engines are almost all hybrids, petrol and diesel, rear or all-wheel drive xDrive, automatic transmission.
