Miniskirts, A-line dresses and geometric prints for SS25

Inspiration from the past is becoming increasingly popular, especially as social media reinforces nostalgic trends. In the 1960s, “Mod” stood for “modernist” and referred to a movement characterized by forward-thinking fashion and music – most likely as a reaction to the often dreary landscape of post-war British culture. The designs of designers such as Mary Quant, worn by models such as Twiggy and Jean Shrimpton, were well received in both the UK and the US.

“Mod” fashion, with its precise cuts, geometric patterns and vibrant color palettes, conveys a sense of optimism and rebellion that feels fresh and exciting in today’s world and will have a strong influence on Spring/Summer 2025.

Michael Kors

For SS25, Michael Kors presents a white crewneck mini dress made from embroidered mesh with a raffia hem. A raffia bag and raffia-decorated slides complete the look.

Leonard Paris

Georg Lux created an A-line mini dress for Leonard Paris with an eye-catching multicolored print, deep V-neck and patch pockets. Black platform sandals with ankle straps complete the SS25 look.

Patou

At Patou, designer Guillaume Henry presented a mini dress made of pink and white jacquard with a low waist and a wide fabric belt. Accessories for the SS25 look included a statement gold heart pendant necklace, a black handbag and black heeled sandals.

Rabanne

Julien Dossena showed a sleeveless gold and silver crystal-on-black mini dress for Rabanne, with a matching vinyl-trimmed handbag and casual gold mesh boots.

Vivetta

Seen at Vivetta was an empire waist A-line mini dress in light blue moiré silk with diamonds and straps. Denim bow mules and a light blue leather handbag completed the look.

Gucci

Gucci’s creative director Sabato De Sarno chose a suit consisting of a zip-up jacket and a miniskirt with a geometric print in green and olive. He combined a handbag in the same print and brown leather, olive green gloves and olive green patent pumps.

MSGM

Massimo Giorgetti designed a short-sleeved jacket for MSGM with a striking floral print in white and orange on a black background, combined with a multicolored striped knit top in yellow, black, red and white and matching hot pants. Accessories included a red woven leather bag, a black suede bucket hat and brown suede sneakers.

Dior

A short double-breasted coat in black and white color blocks with a neck loop, short wide sleeves and black and white striped details on one shoulder was presented at Dior. Designer Maria Grazia Chiuri complemented the look with over-the-knee boots.

Miu Miu

Another double-breasted coat was shown at Miu Miu. This time with a striking geometric print in white, blue, red and brown. The coat was gathered at the waist with three belts.

Nina Ricci

Nina Ricci designer Harris Reed presented another short, white A-line coat with black patent trim and black buttons. Black leather gloves, headscarf and pumps completed the look.
