A record number of cultural and entertainment people were seen at the castle’s celebrations this year. Longtime musician, singer of the band Mamba Tero Vaara was invited to the Independence Day reception at the Presidential Palace by his wife Chip Danger with. Now, in his public Facebook update, Vaara tells direct words in the Pori style about the crackers who talked about the nation.

– I came to visit and experience the lady. A big thank you to the presidential couple for the invitation! The main thoughts are that it should be impressive, relaxed, interesting and warm-hearted. But they don’t warn about the rain in vain, Vaara times the mood of the evening.

– The crowd was shocking all the way from the steps of Mariankatu to the halls on the second floor. It’s no wonder that a separate reception was organized for war veterans already on December 2, 2024. Moving around the premises of the Presidential Palace – as part of the 1,700-strong human mass – requires quite a bit of jumping around in places, he admits.

According to Vaara, the crowd at the beginning eased when we got closer to the State Hall and the presidential couple’s handshake.

– When shaking hands, Stubb surprised my modest entertainment artist persona by saying, “I’m sorry it’s Friday and not Saturday night”, reveals Tero Vaara.

Stubb’s flying phrase refers to Mamba’s 1986 release Saturday night – to the hit song. The song sings that “Saturday night to a restaurant / We were supposed to go party”.

Wondering about the ball

In his publication, Vaara recalls the history of the Independence Day reception and mentions the famous punch.

– It’s not tactful to criticize the host couple’s offerings in events of this (even) scale, but we comment on the bool enough that it doesn’t really hit our taste buds, the singer shakes directly.

After all, the base of the bowl is prepared in Alko, and the bubbly ingredients are added to it at the party venue. The drink is strong, about 12 percent. The Mamba star also takes a stand on the composition of the ball.

– Bring on that. I didn’t notice anything “bubbly” about the substance. At the same time, the lime-colored, mystical dignity of the product suffered a little when a cadet elsewhere carried it in an ordinary five-liter plastic canister to offer to party guests, he says.

Vaara made it to the dance floor at the party and tasted the delicious food on offer.

– The second number was taken with the lady and herself Juha Tapion presented by Two old treeswhich so faithfully referred to my feet that those dances were then left at that, he laughs, but says that he regretted the absence of some classic elements.

– Let’s register as a small disappointment that Ellen Svinhufvud’s cake was not offered in the house – at least this year. Similarly, the performance by the Kaarti orchestra was missed In memory of the Vilppula braves. Was that possible? Heikki Klemetin a wonderful march to even be part of the set…

According to the information previously provided to the media by the Office of the President of the Republic, the classic cake in question was not served at the Independence Day reception, nor was In memory of the Vilppula braves heard the song. This year, the spirit of Lapland was particularly evident in the food served at the castle’s celebrations, and the Kaarti band performed many other patriotic classics.

When leaving the castle, Vaara says that he put on a wolf fur for the crisp winter night, while his wife wore a mink fur. At the end of the publication, he reveals what independence means to him.

– Independence is like health. You only understand its meaning when you lose it, Vaara downloads.

Stubb at Mamba’s gig

Iltalehti reached Tero Vaara by phone, and the man afterwards praised Linna’s party as a positive and impressive experience.

– It was great that there was such an opportunity where you could approach anyone. Atte Kaleva it was nice to see live, and Mauri Peltoniemi. They are quite short moments of conversation, but interesting when the gentlemen have been followed for years, he enumerates.

– The party was stylish and atmospheric! The dance of the presidential couple was also impressive.

Alexander Stubb’s split in the middle of a handshake still makes Danger smile. He says that the president unexpectedly came to watch Mamba’s performance at the Savoy Theater in October, when his wife Siru Vaara took care of the situation.

– It was really interesting that they contacted the wife who ran the circus at the end of Savoy. Stubb came to watch the band in the back room after the concert, Vaara says.
