She worked as a (child) nurse for over forty years and has been an organist for decades. Thea Steenbergen from Hoogveen has been committed to society for years and that is why she has now received a ribbon.

Steenbergen worked in healthcare from 1976 to 2019, including in the intensive care unit of the neonatology department. In addition to her work as a nurse, she has played the organ in the Reformed Church in Hoogeveen for almost as long. She is also active as a volunteer at various church associations, and has given organ lessons and living room concerts.

Steenbergen was decorated as a member of the order of Orange-Nassau.
