The four suspects took the victim from the Stadsplein to an alley next to the Meander. There he was robbed of his phone and debit card, and a suspect assaulted the victim.
Shortly afterwards, the police arrested three suspects at the bus station on Thomas Cookstraat. They matched the description, but the police reported on social media that ‘the information was not yet complete and an arrest could not yet be made’.
Criminal investigation showed that the arrested persons were indeed involved in the robbery. However, there were still questions about the identity of the fourth suspect.
Still arrested
The three suspects were arrested at various locations in Amstelveen and Amsterdam on Friday at 7 a.m. The identity of the fourth suspect also emerged during the course of the investigation, after which he could also be arrested.
All suspects have been interrogated and the police investigation is still ongoing. Witnesses to the robbery and assault are asked to contact the police.
