Siltaş Yapı Pendikspor published a statement on its social media account after the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Legal Consultancy announced the PFDK referrals.
The following statements were used in the statement stating that they would apply to refer Mert Hakan Yandaş, who allegedly threatened referee Kadir Sağlam, to the PFDK:
“In the statement of Professional Football Disciplinary Committee referrals made by TFF, the football player named ‘Mert Hakan Yandaş’ was not included in any way, despite his immoral, unethical and unsportsmanlike actions in the Fenerbahçe-Siltaş Yapı Pendikspor match played last Sunday. Apparently, this football player is 90 years old. He managed to influence the observers of the match as well as the referee for a whole minute. We wonder if the threats made to the referee of the match, which all of Turkey saw, were also made to the representatives of the federation. This football player, who we do not know with what privileges he took the field, did not receive a penalty on the field and continued to be protected in the same way afterwards. “Unfortunately, this decision does not surprise us, but we would like to announce to the public that we will not remain silent in the face of this injustice and that the necessary objections will be made tomorrow morning through our lawyers in order to seek our rights and ensure justice is served.”
