With the 23rd success in 27 days they are +15 on Juve. At the current rate, Inzaghi’s team could celebrate in the derby on April 21st
An unstoppable race which now definitively launches the countdown to the Nerazzurri home title. Having made the necessary entreaties on the part of the fans, the 15 points advantage accumulated in the standings over Juventus represents a safety margin that allows Inter to see the goal of the second star on the horizon. Both for the pace that Inzaghi’s team has been maintaining since the beginning of the year, with a string of nine consecutive victories (twelve also counting the cups). Both for the discontinuity of those chasing, who in the last month have seen the gap in the rankings more than double from the leaders. Against the Ligurians, the Nerazzurri have understood that they will still have to work hard to reach their goal of the Scudetto, but the sustained pace of the last two months can lead to the finish line in the space of a few days. All things considered, continuing the current positive streak, the mathematical conquest of the tricolor could arrive at the latest in the next derby against Milan, on 21 April.
on the horizon

This, logically, assuming that every success of the Nerazzurri in the next five matchdays corresponds to an identical result for the Bianconeri, who would thus reach a 15 point gap with six matchdays remaining in the tournament. In that case, a success against the “cousins” would make Inter unattainable, also by virtue of a goal difference (at the moment) largely more favorable to the advantage in head-to-head matches. The opportunity is tempting, Inzaghi knows it and the fans have already circled the date of April 21st in red, but at this rate the party could even arrive earlier. Also because, after having closed a month of fire with the matches against Fiorentina, Juve and Roma preceded by the Super Cup and immediately followed by the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Atletico, the calendar now appears decidedly downhill.

Inzaghi and his team, in fact, will now face Bologna (away) and, after the second leg of the Champions League against the Colchoneros, they will challenge Napoli at San Siro before an affordable triptych composed of Empoli (home), Udinese and Cagliari (again at the Meazza). In all, three home matches and only two “pitfalls”, those made up of the rossoblu and the outgoing Italian champions. Although it is legitimate to hypothesize rotations on the part of the Piacenza coach due to the European commitments, the scudetto remains the main objective, the one from which – as underlined by Inzaghi himself after the victory against Atalanta – one should not look or think away in the slightest. This is why, despite the inevitable calculations, the aim of the troop remains to win every match. To reach a long-awaited goal, that of the second star. But also to be able to reserve physical and nervous energy for the Champions League match that came close to last year. The match against Genoa also ticked off, albeit with a pinch of effort and some worries, now there are still 18 points to go. As long as they don’t stumble again behind, further reducing the countdown that the Nerazzurri people have already started.
