Bomb threat at football game in the 3rd league

An anonymous bomb threat is received at a home game of the third division soccer team 1. FC Saarbrücken. The audience notices next to nothing about it.

There was a bomb threat last Sunday during the third division game between 1. FC Saarbrücken and Arminia Bielefeld (1-1). “It was actually an anonymous call. We reacted within a few minutes and initiated non-publicity measures,” Thomas Dräger-Pitz, head of operations for the Saarbrücken police, confirmed the incident to the “Saarbrücker Zeitung” on Tuesday.

According to the police, who have now begun investigations to identify the perpetrators, there was never any danger to the spectators. “The police classification of the matter showed that there was no serious threat,” Dräger-Pitz continued to tell the newspaper.

At the beginning of the second half, the club, in consultation with the police, ordered the area around the unoccupied seating areas in blocks A1 and A2 in the Ludwigsparkstadion to be closed. In addition, Arminia Bielefeld’s replacement players were ordered to the other side of the stadium. The almost 12,000 spectators noticed little or nothing of the incident.
